Linoleum Relief Printmaking
Thursdays, January 8, 2026 – March 12, 2026
This course explores a variety of relief printing techniques with a focus on carving and printing linoleum blocks. Students will primarily use oil-based, water-soluble inks on paper and fabric, with an emphasis on non-toxic methods and materials.
Through instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will learn techniques such as reductive relief, multi-block registration, jigsaw relief, hand-cut stencils, monoprint, fabric printing, hand printing, and printing with a press.
The course is suitable for all experience levels, offering a structured yet supportive environment for both beginners and those with prior printmaking experience.
Two additional weeks of open studio time are included, along with opportunities for sign-up–based independent studio hours throughout the session. Basic materials are provided; however, students are encouraged to bring or purchase their own set of carving tools (for example: Power Grip carving tools).
