5 week class series
Starts November 9th, 2016

A perfect way to discover your interests and skills.

A mosaic can be made from many things and interesting, odd collections of materials – dried peas,  stones, bits of sea glass, found objects – can be attached to almost any surface – bowls, mirrors, small doors and backing for house numbers – or they can stand alone for their shapes, colors, and textures.

We begin by looking at photographs of mosaic work from history and current artists. A variety of materials will be provided and resources beyond the studio encouraged. We then learn how to fix odd shaped bits securely to a chosen surface and learn to grout. The result is a secure layer of rich texture and pattern, each one unique.

Studio Sampler Series: A series of five week classes designed to introduce topics in studio art, other topics in the Winter and Spring sessions will cover a variety of materials and studio practices. Designed to stimulate without a huge commitment, this series is a perfect way to test your interests and skills.
